There is deep concern over the ongoing Israeli aggression in Gaza, the continuous violations of the ceasefire, and the worsening humanitarian catastrophe.Dr humaira Tariq
Secretary General of Women Wing Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan, Dr. Humaira Tariq, has expressed deep sorrow, grief, and serious concern over the recent brutal attacks by Israeli forces in Gaza, which have resulted in the martyrdom and injury of more Palestinians.
She stated that, according to the Palestinian Ministry of Health, seven more Palestinians were martyred in the latest Israeli attacks, while 25 additional injured individuals were transferred to hospitals during the past 24 hours. These figures indicate that despite the so-called ceasefire, the Palestinian people continue to suffer from ongoing oppression and violence.
Dr. Humaira Tariq said that even after the ceasefire announced in October 2025, 929 Palestinians have been martyred and 2,811 injured. This situation clearly demonstrates that international declarations of a ceasefire have remained merely symbolic, while Israel continues to openly violate international law and human rights.
Expressing profound sadness, she noted that since the outbreak of this devastating war in October 2023, the total number of martyrs has reached 72,938, while 172,919 people have been injured. Over the past nearly three years, residential areas, educational institutions, hospitals, places of worship, and essential infrastructure in Gaza have been destroyed. Millions have been displaced, and one of the worst humanitarian crises in modern history has been imposed upon the people of Gaza.
Dr. Humaira Tariq also expressed regret over what she described as the criminal silence of the United Nations, the Security Council, world powers, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), and international human rights organizations. She stated that if global institutions fail to play an effective role now, all claims of international justice and human rights will lose their credibility.
She demanded that:
• An immediate, permanent, and effective ceasefire in Gaza be ensured, and violations of the ceasefire be addressed at the international level.
• Urgent measures be taken to protect civilians, especially women and children.
• Unhindered access to food, medicine, and other humanitarian assistance be provided to the besieged Palestinian population.
• Independent investigations into war crimes and serious human rights violations be conducted, and those responsible be brought to justice.
Dr. Humaira Tariq appealed to the people of Pakistan, the Muslim world, and all advocates of justice to express strong solidarity with the Palestinian people and raise their voices in support of the oppressed civilians of Gaza. She emphasized that supporting the Palestinian people's struggle for freedom and their right to self-determination is a requirement of humanity, justice, and international law.
